Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Your adventure begins at Londorossi Gate, where you'll enter Kilimanjaro National Park. The hike takes you through lush rainforests, offering glimpses of native flora and fauna. After a few hours of trekking, you'll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, nestled amidst the greenery.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
As you leave the rainforest behind, the terrain transforms into moorland. The views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak become more prominent. Shira 1 Camp, your resting place for the night, offers spectacular panoramic vistas.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut
Today's hike takes you through the alpine desert, with its surreal and stark beauty. You'll pass the Shira Cathedral and Shira Needle on your way to Moir Hut. The higher altitude and the expansive landscape create an otherworldly atmosphere.
Day 4: Acclimatization at Moir Hut
An essential acclimatization day. Explore the surroundings with short hikes to enhance your adaptation to the altitude. The views of the mountain and surrounding plains are incredible. Rest and recharge for the upcoming days.
Day 5: Moir Hut to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Today's route takes you up to the Lava Tower, where you'll experience higher altitudes. Descend to Barranco Camp, situated in a valley beneath the imposing Barranco Wall. The changing landscape offers a memorable contrast.
Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
The Barranco Wall presents an exhilarating challenge as you ascend. The day's hike offers breathtaking vistas of the valleys below. Karanga Camp awaits, providing a stunning viewpoint of the southern glaciers.
Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
As you approach the base camp for your summit attempt, you'll notice the landscape becoming more austere. Barafu Camp sits beneath the intimidating Kibo Peak. Rest and prepare for the night ascent.
Day 8: Summit Attempt - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Mweka Camp
